Ultimate Itinerary for Sayulita, Mexico

Sayulita, a city found on Mexico’s pacific coast, has become one of my favorite places to visit and I cannot wait until I can book a trip to this beautiful destination again.

In no particular order, here are my recommendations to create an incredible itinerary:

ADVENTURE:

Rancho Mi Chaparrita - Offers ziplining, ATV tours, snorkeling, horseback riding, and more.

  • I did the ATV tour through Sayulita and the jungle. The guide was amazing, the views were incredible, and the tequila tasting at the end was a blast (don’t be shy, make sure to send me a bottle of your favorite one!) On an important note: don’t worry about transportation, as they pick you up and drop you off by their office in downtown Sayulita.

Chica Locca Tours (MUST DO) - Visit to Marietas Islands.

Fish TFC: Home - Marlin Fishing, Sports Fishing | Facebook Page: Fishing Adventures On Topless II

  • If you're looking for your next fishing adventure, I highly recommend the Topless II boat and team! I spent 5 days participating in a fishing tournament with Captain Greg, Victor, and Poncho, and I cannot wait to go back again!

  • My experience: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s9jj1bQk3ts

Fish caught in the tournament went to local families

Surfing – Get a lesson!

  • I rented surf boards in a couple of different places along the shore. Prices were practically the same across the board, so it doesn’t really matter where you go, but definitely get a lesson!

  • Highlight: Although I stood up on my FIRST WAVE, FIRST TRY (no biggie), I ended up with half the ocean in my stomach and up my nose. Definitely a reason why you should GET A LESSON.

ACCOMMODATIONS:

  • If you love all inclusive accommodations

  • In my opinion, this is the most perfect location to experience all that Sayulita has to offer – it’s close to food, activities, and steps away from downtown. I recommend it for 5+ people.

  • Additional idea: We capped off the trip by hiring a chef for dinner. Our chef came to the bungalow and was fantastic! You can visit her Facebook page here: A Chef in Sayulita

FOOD:

Naty’s Kitchen - Best tacos I’ve EVER had in my life. I was truly transported to another world and my soul craves them to this day (Poblano and Chicken Mole were my two favorites)

Mary’s Traditional Mexican Cuisine - Where I discovered my favorite meal: Shrimp Chile Relleno!

Don Pedro’s Restaurant and Bar - Beautiful bar and restaurant with a view overlooking the ocean

RANDOM NOTES:

  • Try their PediaLyte type drink for your hangover recharge, in my opinion it’s way better than the US version

  • Always have cash in Pesos

  • Try a bundle of the shredded coconut honey dessert that an older woman will be carrying around on a tray. If you know what it’s called, please let me know! I’m dying to have it again (says person who actually dislikes coconut.)

  • Explore the shops and learn about the culture. Check out Evoke the Spirit!

So, what do you think? Who is ready to go on a trip?! Can I join?
